Categories

Organize guest requests by type using categories.

Overview

Categories let you group guest requests by type, making it easier to filter, assign, and track requests. For example, you might have categories for Transport, Dining, Housekeeping, Spa & Wellness, and General.

When a guest submits a request through the portal, they can choose a category. Your team can then filter the request list by category to focus on specific types of work.

Where to find it

From your event's navigation, select Concierge, then choose the Categories tab.

Concierge Categories

When you first activate the concierge portal for an event, Evencia automatically creates the following default categories:

  • Transport

  • General

You can rename, deactivate, or delete these, and add your own.

Creating a category

  1. Select Add category at the top right.
  2. Enter a Name for the category (required).
  3. Optionally add a Description to help your team understand what this category is for.
  4. Select Create.

Sort orderA number that controls the order categories appear in lists. Lower numbers appear first.

Deactivating a category

If you no longer want guests to use a category, you can deactivate it without deleting it. Turn off the Active toggle in the edit dialog. The category will disappear from the guest portal but existing requests will keep their category data.

Deleting a category

  1. Find the category in the list.
  2. Select the trash icon on the right.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Existing requests that used the deleted category keep their data — they will still show the category name in their history even after the category is removed.
