Articles
Write press releases and news posts for your press room.
Overview
Articles are written press releases and news posts shown in the press room, as opposed to a single photo, video, or document. An article has a title, a short summary, a formatted body, and an optional featured image pulled from your asset library.
Articles appear alongside your other assets in the press room and can be grouped into a press kit just like any other asset.
Where to find it
From your event's main navigation, select Media, then Articles. Articles also appear in the combined list under Assets, marked separately from files and links.
Writing an article
- Select New article.
- Enter a Title.
- Optionally add a short Summary — this is what shows in list previews.
- Write the Body using the rich text editor.
- Optionally choose a Featured image from the images already uploaded to this event's asset library.
- Optionally assign the article to a Press kit (and a subfolder within it).
- Select Save.
An article is saved as a draft until you publish it.
Publishing an article
Turn on Published when editing the article, then save. A published article becomes visible in the press room. Turning it off again hides it.
The first time an article is published, Evencia records the publish date, which is shown to press.
Moving articles between press kits
To move several articles into (or out of) a press kit at once:
- Select the articles you want to move.
- Choose the destination press kit, and subfolder if needed.
- Confirm the move.
Deleting an article
Deleting an article removes it permanently, including from the public press room. This action cannot be undone.
Common issues
I cannot choose a featured image
Only images that have already been uploaded to this event's asset library can be used as a featured image. Upload the photo under Assets first, then come back and select it.
My article is published but press cannot see it
Check that the article is assigned to a press kit the journalist can reach, and that Published is turned on. Articles follow the same press-kit visibility rules as other assets.
